BOM and BOQ Review Template for Fabrication Quotes
An editable workbook for reviewing Bill of Materials and Bill of Quantities rows against drawings, scope, units, sourcing, and estimate treatment.

What this resource is for
A supplied BOM or BOQ is evidence, not an automatically approved estimate. Rows still need to be checked against the current drawings, specifications, units, scope boundaries, sourcing decisions, and fabrication route.
The template records the supplied row beside the reviewer’s treatment so omissions, duplicates, bought-out items, subcontract work, and clarifications remain visible.
Designed for: Fabrication estimators converting customer BOM, BOQ, schedule, or takeoff information into reviewed quote inputs.
What is included
- source row register
- drawing and revision cross-reference
- unit and quantity review
- make-buy-subcontract classification
- material and finish review
- clarification status
- estimate disposition summary
Fields and review points
How to use it
Preserve the supplied source
Copy or import the customer’s item reference, description, quantity, and unit without overwriting it during review.
Add the estimator treatment
Cross-reference the drawing, confirm unit and quantity, classify make-buy-subcontract treatment, and record material, finish, uncertainty, and estimate destination.
Reconcile before quote review
Check unpriced, duplicated, excluded, and clarification-required rows. Reconcile reviewed totals against the controlling scope before approval.
Important review boundaries
- Do not assume a customer BOM is complete or current.
- Preserve source units and explicitly record conversions.
- A BOQ may describe measurable scope without defining fabrication method or commercial responsibility.
Questions about this resource
What is the difference between a BOM and BOQ here?
A BOM generally lists parts, materials, or assemblies. A BOQ generally lists measured work or quantities. Both require review against the controlling RFQ evidence before becoming estimate inputs.
Can the workbook import directly into Kwantflow?
The first version is a review workbook. Any import must follow the current Kwantflow supported setup-data and estimating workflow rather than assuming every customer column maps directly.
Use the editable version with your own reviewed data
We will email the download link and add you to the Kwantflow newsletter for practical RFQ and estimating guidance.
